A reserved newlywed Indian-American woman risks being excommunicated from her husband after his family sees her modeling for a provocative commercial. As the drama unfolds she struggles to find her voice being heard with her "modern" husband as she tries to navigate the tightrope of her modern outlook with the family's conservative expectations.

Note: Thematically, this story involves finding independence when the status quo is rocked.

Seeking 1 talent(s) for this role
Reserved yet adventurous law-student, Roshni typically followed the wills of her parents and family when it came to matters they viewed important. She is happily married to her husband (Arman) and wants to desperately fit in with her in-laws, so much so that she puts her passions aside and pursues a career as a lawyer (one which she hopes they would be proud of). Any put downs by her in-laws she absorbs in order to be accepted, however has found herself wanting to become a more independent person outside of just with her and her husband\'s friends.

(Supporting role) Arman is a social butterfly, easy to mix with and gets along with everyone. He feels his family is extremely progressive, especially compared to others in their community. His easy-going life and constant praise from everyone have made him absent minded to the image his family likes to maintain in the Indian community. Arman struggles as he wrestles his displeasure of not knowing about his wife's advert in front of his parents and his desire to please both his parents and Roshni.

Baba is highly regarded in the Indian community in Jersey and loves to view himself as someone who is very accommodating especially to his daughter-in-law. However, his standing in society also ensures that he is very conscious about what others may think of him, and this subconsciously plays into his view of what is respectable or not.

Seeking 1 talent(s) for this role
(Supporting role) Very protective of her son and thinks highly of her family, Tini is what holds the nuclear family together. Always at her husband's side, she was brought up with traditional Indian values and finds Roshni's independence at odds with hers. In social settings she is quick-witted and strongly opinionated, so it's best to agree and follow what she says.
