A retired blues singer goes to her local dive bar to have a drink and mourn the murder of her son. Doretha was a successful blues singer who lost her teenage son at the hands of a policeman who mistook him for a robber with a rifle, when he was merely walking with a tree branch. The incident robbed her of her son, her happiness, and her singing voice. She's buried her grief for the last forty years until she sees the painful images of Michael Brown, a young African-American man killed by a policeman, lying dead in the street.
