Casting Call for a series of non-union videos for training Certified Nursing Assistants. The videos include some narrative elements as well as demonstrations for many day to day nursing practices. Many roles work multiple days, so this can be a great work opportunity when lots of other work has slowed down.

All roles will be paid $106/8 as a base with any OT paid.

She’s driven and wants to prove herself. After losing her parents following a car accident when she was a child, Claire got lost in the foster care system. She was constantly told by the people who were supposed to care for her that she was not good enough. This has stayed with her throughout the years, and she feels like she always has to show people that she’s worth believing in. Her drive, and ultimately her insecurities, get her in trouble when she performs tasks she’s not allowed to do. Claire needs to learn that she has self worth, and she will learn that by helping residents as a CNA. She will stumble and fall at times, but once she realizes what her role is, she will thrive.

When she first began her journey as a CNA, she wanted to quit. The environment was incredibly busy, patients never stopped calling for her, and she felt incredibly overwhelmed. She cried on her first day and wondered if this was truly the path for her. She didn’t know if she had what it took. What kept her going was her two daughters, Camila and Sofia. She wanted to prove to them that she could do it. Linda stuck with it, and soon she found that she loved being a CNA. She loved learning about the residents, their lives, their families. Although she’s retiring soon, and will miss all the people she’s worked with, she knows she made her daughters proud.

He pushed himself to exhaustion to apply to Nursing School. He thought that by keeping busy and working, he could ignore his grief. Although Tim is great at his job, residents often find him cold. Throughout the series, Tim has to learn to deal with his grief and accept that when being a CNA or a Nurse, loss is something you have to face.

The death of her husband and her experience in the system with the nursing home facility gave her even more insight when dealing with families and residents. She works to repay the kindness that was showed to George during his final days. She’s tough because she’s seen it all, and knows it’s her license on the line. She wants to make sure that every CNA under her care puts the patients first because that’s what was done for her husband. Her sons are grown now, but they still celebrate their father’s life every year on his birthday and eat his favorite, pumpkin pie.

Her daughter Maria is overbearing and accuses the CNA of not doing enough for her mother. Although it will be difficult, Sarah will eventually make it through rehabilitation and be able to go home. Sarah was once a world class ballroom dancer, and that’s how she met her husband, Adam. When Adam died, she stopped dancing for a bit because she couldn't bear not to dance with him. That’s when her daughter Maria stepped in, and offered to be her dance partner. Maria took lessons as a teen, and they danced together in the living room of their house. The bond they created through dance helped heal both their broken hearts after the loss of Adam. All residents will be demonstrating typical practices of nursing such as transfers, feeding, bathing (showing only the head and shoulders), and others. All actors submitting must be comfortable with demonstrating these practices. We are open to casting a real mother and daughter.
